Sil-x Implosion Balls

The Sil-x Implosion is identical to the regular Sil-x in weight size and how it juggles the only difference is the shell of the ball is made with clear PVC and the silicone inside the ball is pigmented. Some juggler prefer the aesthetic look of this ball over the normal silicone-x ball.  The clear shell needs to be cleaned regularly with Isopropyl Alcohol, as it will get cloudy over time. Just put a dash of Alcohol in a paper towel and wipe the surface of the ball till it is clear again.

The Implosion is another type of Russian ball has a much thicker rotomolded PVC shell as apposed to the much lighter blow mold Polyethylene  Radfactor Thin shell russian ball or Fill Your Own russian ball. Some juggler prefer this type of ball over the thin shell ball, as it has much less of a russian effect and the ball does not wobble when thrown with a slight spin or uneven throw.

The balls have a much less noticeable russian effect because they are partially filled with liquid silicone, rather than sand, millet, glass beads or bird seed. The silicone moves down to the bottom of the ball much slower than any of the solid filling. These balls come in four sizes.

With the Sil-x balls you need to take care the the plug does not work it way out over time, and then leak silicone. Before you juggle look at the plugs and make sure they are pushed flush with the ball. The plug stays in by friction, there is no glue. If the ball starts to leak, take out the plug and carefully clean the hole with a pointed paper towel, and then insert the plug again, this should stop all leakage.

The 67mm size, 2.64inch (a tennis ball is 65mm) and has a weight of 110 grams. This is a good sized ball for numbers juggling more than 5 balls, or for small jugglers. It is the most common size ball we sell.

75mm size, 2.95 inch (a hard baseball is 73mm) and has a weight of 130 grams. This ball is good for 3-5 ball juggling for larger jugglers up to 6 feet tall, with fairly large hands, or for jugglers who just want to juggler 3-4 balls and like the look of bigger juggling balls.

78mm  3.07 inch (a hard baseball is 73mm) and has a weight of 150 grams. This ball is good for 3-5 ball juggling for larger jugglers up to 6 feet tall, with fairly large hands, or for jugglers who just want to juggler 3-4 balls and like the look of bigger juggling balls.

100 mm size, 3.93 inch ( a soft ball is 97mm) and has a weigh of 300 grams. This ball is most commonly used as a contact type ball, where you are making stall catches, or ball balances. The russian effect makes this ball much easier to catch on your foot, head, neck or arms. Some juggler like to use this ball for a beginner one handed contact juggling, and for some one handed tricks it is easier to do. I can also be use as beginner ball for general contact juggling as it rolls much less than a hollow unfilled stage ball. In general this ball is not made for toss juggling, as it is too heavy, and the plug can come out with repeated high drops from toss juggling.
