Sil-x Implosion Jugglng Ball 100mm

The Sil-x Implosion is identical to the regular Sil-x in weight size and how it juggles the only difference is the shell of the ball is made with clear PVC and the silicone inside the ball is pigmented. Some juggler prefer the aesthetic look of this ball over the normal silicone-x ball. The clear shell needs to be cleaned regularly with Isopropyl Alcohol, as it will get cloudy over time. Just put a dash of Alcohol in a paper towel and wipe the surface of the ball till it is clear again. The Implosion is another type of Russian ball has a much thicker rotomolded PVC shell as apposed to the much lighter blow mold Polyethylene Radfactor Thin shell russian ball or Fill Your Own russian ball. Some juggler prefer this type of ball over the thin shell ball, as it has much less of a russian effect and the ball does not wobble when thrown with a slight spin or uneven throw.

The balls have a much less noticeable russian effect because they are partially filled with liquid silicone, rather than sand, millet, glass beads or bird seed. The silicone moves down to the bottom of the ball much slower than any of the solid filling. These balls come in four sizes.

With the Sil-x balls you need to take care the the plug does not work it way out over time, and then leak silicone. Before you juggle look at the plugs and make sure they are pushed flush with the ball. The plug stays in by friction, there is no glue. If the ball starts to leak, take out the plug and carefully clean the hole with a pointed paper towel, and then insert the plug again, this should stop all leakage.

The 100mm size, 4.0 inch and has a weight of 300 grams. This is a very large sized ball if you are over 6 feet tall and have big hands, it could be used for toss juggling, but a normal 100mm stage ball would be better weighted. 300 grams is too heavy for toss juggling. Many contact juggler like this type of balls because the silicone inside the ball slows down the roll in/on your hands. It also is easier to balance the ball on your head or arms as the silicone goes to the bottom of the ball and makes it more stable.

Neat little ball. I'm basically a complete noob, so it's been fun experimenting with it. Hasn't leaked yet, which makes it the best of the three sil-x balls I've experimented with. If you shake it up, the bubbles add a pretty neat effect. Mine has a slight yellowish tint to it, which I think is to be expected, and might go away with some cleaning? But I haven't tried yet...

Great weight. Good for practice contact juggling. Obviously not good for isolations. A few minor defects in coloration, a couple small black bits of something floating around in the liquid.
