Play SIL-X 100mm Juggling Ball
This ball is most commonly used as a contact juggling ball. The silicone filling slows the roll of the ball and can make some contact juggling tricks easier to learn. Also the ball will not roll as much when dropped.
This is another type of Russian ball has a much thicker rotomolded PVC shell as apposed to the much lighter blow mold Polyethylene Radfactor Thin shell russian ball or Fill Your Own russian ball. Some juggler prefer this type of ball over the thin shell ball, as it has much less of a russian effect and the ball does not wobble when thrown with a slight spin or uneven throw.
The balls have a much less noticeable russian effect because they are partially filled with liquid silicon, rather than sand, millet, glass beads or bird seed. The silicone moves down to the bottom of the ball much slower than any of the solid filling. These balls come in four sizes and two shell thickness. These balls are heavier than the Thin Shell Russian balls and are better suited for outdoor juggling.
The sil-x balls come in two shell thickness, the normal sil-x ball and the sil-x light, the difference is the sil-x light has a much lighter and thinner shell so the ball is much softer, as well as have a lower total weight. Some jugglers prefer this balls as it has more russian effect than normal silicone-x ball but not as much as a thin shell russian ball, like the Radfactor ball.
With the Sil-x balls you need to take care the the plug does not work it way out over time, and then leak silicone. Before you juggle look at the plugs and make sure they are pushed flush with the ball. The plug stays in by friction, there is no glue. If the ball starts to leak, take out the plug and carefully clean the hole with a pointed paper towel, and then insert the plug again, this should stop all leakage. The 100mm size, 4.0 inch and has a weight of 300 grams. This is a very large sized ball if you are over 6 feet tall and have big hands, it could be used for toss juggling, but a normal 100mm stage ball would be better weighted. 300 grams is too heavy for toss juggling..
