Kevlar Flat wick, Cross weave 20mm x 4mm (3/4 inch x 5/32 inch)

Renegade flat wicking is made from 100% kevlar. This cross woven wick is made from ring spun yarn, which increases the strength of thread. Wicking made from this type of thread has a firmer feel and is less flexible than a friction spun thread. The most common use for this size is for making larger rolled wicks like for fire staffs or dragon staffs. The ring spun cross weave wicking is more durable than twill wicking for props that get dropped a lot. However the stiffness makes it hard to weave or fold, so it is best suited for rolled wicks. This is a slightly thicker weave for applications where you need a stiffer and thicker 3/4 material.

Wick thickness is nominal. The minimum thickness is 4mm but the actual thickness is variable. Each manufacturing run will have a slightly different thickness, this batch is 4.03mm

This wick is the perfect blend of fibers for making fire tools with the ratio of fiberglass to kevlar optimized for fuel absorbency and weight. That translates to a better tool for burn time, flame size and longevity. Pure Kevlar which is often asked for is not an option in our offerings, would be expensive and not what is used in the realm of fire performance.
