The outside of the ball is a wire cage covered with a fire resistant Kelvar covering. On the inside of the ball is a fuel cartridge which holds two small sections of wicking. The flame comes from this center section of the ball and is large enough to burn outside of the cage. The 80mm size is good for contact juggling. If you buy three balls it comes with a bag and fuel bottle. The outside of the ball does not burn, it is covered with insulation, not fire wick.
