This thinner flat wick, 1/16" thickness, has a tighter weave and less fleecy aspect than our 1/8" wick. It's best used for small fire tools such as hand torches, wands for fire eating and body contact. A tighter weave is better for body contact and fire eating since the fibers are better contained than it's 1/8" counterpart. For larger tools, you will have to use twice as much to make the same size rolls and folds as compared to the 1/8" thickness, costing more per foot to achieve the same result.

This wick is the perfect blend of fibers for making fire tools with the ratio of fiberglass to kevlar optimized for fuel absorbency and weight. That translates to a better tool for burn time, flame size and longevity. Pure Kevlar which is often asked for is not an option in our offerings, would be expensive and not what is used in the realm of fire performance.
