Clear and Colored Acrylic Balls

The most common type of contact ball is made from acrylic plastic. It comes in three types: clear, colored or ultraviolet (black light-activated). The Renegade acrylic balls are made to a high-quality standard. Perfectly round, without inclusions, scratches or blemishes. Contact jugglers often select colored acrylic balls or stage balls if they are going to be used outdoors. A clear acrylic ball can act as a magnifying glass and burn your hands if used in direct sunlight.

  • Clear and colored acrylic balls made in small sizes (41mm, 52m, 64mm 70mm) are mostly used for multi-ball contact juggling or by people with small hands.
  • Clear and colored acrylic balls in larger sizes (76mm, 82mm, 95mm, 100mm, 120mm) are for single- hand manipulation.
  • Ultraviolet (UV) balls are made with a special pigment so they illuminate when under black lights. The balls glow with a bluish tint.
  • Stage balls are a great way to learn contact juggling. They are cheaper than acrylic balls and do not make a noise when dropped.

Pro tips (advanced and intermediate contact juggler)

There is a big quality difference between brands of acrylic balls. The vast majority of contact balls are made of recycled acrylic. This affects the clarity of the ball. Using lower-grade material will result in a ball with a slight grey tint, which is from dust or dirt from the factory. The best balls are made from recycled acrylic produced by a Japanese automated factory that molds with new material. The worst balls come from Chinese factories, which are dirty and use recycled source material. Balls made with new acrylic are have the best clarity by far but cost at least twice as much. Our acrylic contact balls are made from Japanese regrind.
